Dr. Tony Melito is the founder of WINNING ACTIONS, a mental training system 

for applying sports psychology and sports hypnosis. He has a clinical practice

as a Mental Game Coach, Licensed Professional Counselor, and Licensed Marriage

and Family therapist.

 

Dr. Melito’s coaching experience comprises 18 years of coaching football on both the collegiate and high school levels. He was a member of the football staff at Nicholls State University, Vandebilt Catholic High School, and Brother Martin High School. He first coached on the defensive side of the ball and then switched to the offensive side of the ball. After coaching the offensive line for years, he shifted to the running backs and quarterbacks. For a time, he served as Offensive Coordinator for Brother Martin football. As an assistant football coach, he helped lead the team to win playoff games, District Championships, and the 1989 5A State Finals for Brother Martin football. As a varsity track coach, he worked with the high jumpers and pole vaulters.                  

 

Dr. Melito worked for the New Orleans Saints for several years. He assisted Mark Romig, the iconic voice to Saints fans, in the Saints Control Booth. Along with Jay Romig and Mary Beth Romig, Dr. Melito assisted in keeping a family tradition alive. The Romigs have touched the lives of so many New Orleanians. Dr. Melito is proud to be “in that number” of this special family tradition! ⚜️              

 

Being a former athlete and having coached for eighteen years, Dr. Melito is passionate about performance enhancement, injury rehabilitation, and life skills. His private practice includes high school, collegiate, and professional athletes in various sports. Dr. Melito also has experience in working with coaches and sports teams to optimize performance. He has the expertise to address clinical and sports-related issues.

 

Dr. Melito is a member of the Association for Applied Sports Psychology, Peak Performance Sports, Louisiana Counseling Association, American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy, New Orleans Society for Clinical Hypnosis, and Louisiana Hypnotherapy Organization. Dr. Melito is a Certified Mental Game Coaching Professional.
